Mr. Yamada’s Isuzu Forward & Toyota Soarer

This will be a bit longer post as it will be covering two vehicles! I’ve always had a fascination with big trucks and learning about Dekotora style really made me enjoy Japanese car culture that much more. And from there, it grew into learning about other weird trucks they have that we never got. I drove ClassB trucks over-the-road for a while and got a feel for them and that was fairly enjoyable (other than being away for 4-5 weeks and not sleeping well). I actually found out about Mr. Yamada’s truck from a facebook video of him coming into StanceNation from this year. I’ve always wanted a tow truck and had the idea of lowering one and giving it Dekotora touches for a Executive Eleven tow service specializing in lowdown/race car weekend needs for people. Sho’s C35 Laurel

I really should be home relaxing after work or even looking up parts or helping customers but I only have ten minutes until the libarary closes. I still don’t have internet at my house and I can’t stop thinking about this article and/or Sho’s awesome looking, yet so subtle, C35 Laurel and talking about it! … Continue reading “Sho’s C35 Laurel”

Masahiro’s GRS182 CROWN

What is “Perfect Stance”? No one can really define that, when you think about it. Everyone has their own taste and style for every genre of “car modifying”. But when I think “stance”, I immediately think of Masahiro’s CROWN. I keep coming back to it because the ride height is so low yet the alignment isn’t super crazy. And on top of that, he’s static. There seems to be a lot of negative camber, but it’s not so much that you think: “How do you drive that thing?”or “There’s so much more rear camber than front, it must handle like a forklift.” Continue reading “Masahiro’s GRS182 CROWN”

Yuki’s Skyline

The R34 skyline is probably what most people think of when someone says “Skyline”. It’s also probably the most sought after because it is not legal for another seven-ish years. Each person likes one generation over the other, it seems, but I like all generations in their own way. Continue reading “Yuki’s Skyline”

Yukito’s 180sx

The S-Chassis is still one of the most popular cars to modify and I think that goes for any part of the globe. In the United States, 240sx cars have gone way up in price whether they are “clean” or “beat”. Most of them seem to be haggard for prices much higher than anyone would want to pay. But I think that is due to them being 20+ years old and for every car out there, you’ll have one crashed. And for these cars to be popular in the drift scene, these cars will only get more rare, really, by the week.

Yoo’s Mazda RX7

It seems I’ve been posting a lot of RX7 material lately. They are just really cool cars that have fun yet aggressive styling cues. I’ll actually be posting another really nice customer FC3S tomorrow most likely. Anyways, onto this beautiful beast. Continue reading “Yoo’s Mazda RX7”

Kentaro’s Daihatsu Mira (L700)

When you think of kei-cars, the first thing that comes to mind is low horsepower, good gas mileage, and a nice all around daily commuter.

Mie & Yukio’s 1986 Nissan Leopard

The Nissan Leopard, F31-chassis code, was offered as the Infiniti M30 in the United States. The M30 was only offered in the kouki format which has a more rounded headlight and different tail light configuration. Other than that, the zenki and the kouki exteriors are the same for the most part. For interiors, the Infiniti M30 got the R31 interior which I always thought was neat. But the Nissan Leopard received it’s own variant of interiors differing with the zenki and the kouki. I owned a 1991 Infiniti M30 for a short while and this exact car was my complete inspiration! So I’m very happy to write about this.

Wataru’s SAVANNA RX7 GT-X

I’ve always liked the looks of the FC3S RX7. And on top of that, the powerband of a rotary is so enticing and exciting. The way they rev and how boost hits. The cars feel fairly lightweight and don’t really have a under steer feeling as much as other cars from the era. Even the interiors of the cars feel really nice and sturdy for the time. And who can’t be mesmerized by the redline buzzing…My friend let me drive his Turbo-II once and since then, I’ve been hooked; even if his didn’t have 3rd gear… Continue reading “Wataru’s SAVANNA RX7 GT-X”
