When these were released in the early 80s, they weren’t being advertised to guys in camo pants…They were a cute scooter with bright blue and/or pink graphics for peppy girls’ to scoot on down to the tennis court. But with Japan being Japan, there are guys that say “I’m going to turn one of these into the perfect Shakotan machine!” and do it. It seems to be a very popular scooter to modified. They look really cool with the aftermarket cowls and everything! I enjoy anything that is cool, low down, and especially 2stroke! So in this post, we will be talking about his Honda Courreges Tact. How low he has it with the addition of graphics and aftermarket lighting make it a very unique little scooter. ..I’d ride it every day! Looking cool while getting 1,000mpg! lol
Car Setup:
Engine:
– Overall stock – He rejetted the engine to make it run right (90 main/pilot size according)
– WRP Thunderdome Muffler (he told me it’s very rare)
Suspension/Chassis:
– Lowered to 1cm and it was so low he had to raise it to 70cm (27in from ground) – He ripped the bottom of the center cowl due to it scraping the ground while driving. He thought it was cool that it ripped because it showed how low he is riding!
Exterior:
– DJ1 rims
– Front pole with suichuuka shift knob attached
– New grips
– Stickers (lol)
– Center vented cowl
– Butterfly light attached to center cowl
– Rear cowl purchased at a store called “K-Break”
– Heart shaped tsurikawa handle
– Purple spinning light attached to rear arm
– Rear tail light exchanged for rotating bulb
– Multi-colored light replaced for license plate light
– Kickstand replaced with a short foot peg due to height
